Sega put on the first Sonic Central presentation today to mark the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog! Our favorite Hedgehog continues to break ground, especially when it comes to the transition into Hollywood. Coupled with the 2020 film and the power of nostalgia, it is a great time for Sonic fans. His time on the big screen is a different discussion, however. Today, we talk about the Sonic Central presentation!

Several experiences are being brought to the table, both old and new! Let’s see what video games Sega is working on for the 30-year celebration! Also, check out the presentation at the end of the article for more Sonic!

Sonic Colors Remaster

First up is Sonic Colors: Ultimate, a remake of the 2010 Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS video game. It’s up to Sonic to utilize new powers to save an alien race from Eggman’s enslavement. For fans who played or missed out on Colors (like me), Colors: Ultimate serves up new experiences. The remaster includes enhanced visuals and framerate, a Rival Rush mode that pits players against Metal Sonic, a new power-up called the Jade Ghost Wisp, and content inspired by the 2020 Sonic film.

There will also be a two-episode animated series tie-in called Sonic Colors: Rise of the Wisps in the Summer. Roger Craig Smith will voice Sonic.

Look for the game on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X|S, In stores September 7, 2021! It’s available to pre-order now.

An Impressive Sonic Collection

Sonic Origins is a new compilation of classic Sonic video games. Each game is coming to the current consoles, and Sega teases they will deliver “fresh content.” The collection includes Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles, and Sonic CD. Sega has not re-released Sonic 3 & Knuckles in recent years. Despite the announcement for the games involved, Sega says it will release on the “latest platforms.”

New Sonic the Hedgehog mainline game 

Takashi Iizuka, head of Sonic Team, waited until the last minute to reveal a short teaser trailer for a new Sonic game in 2022! Nevertheless, the details are scarce. However, we do know is the game is coming to Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and the Xbox Series X|S.
