New Fortnite Update = Major Cuts To Install Space

Previously taking over 90GB of disc space, Fortnite has trimmed the fat and now you’ll only need 27GB of storage space to download!

The latest update of Fortnite will relieve fans who were concerned with filling their hard drive space with the massive game. The 14.40 update dropped this morning and is 27GB in size. Here’s some details from the patch notes

Please note the patch size will be larger than normal on PC (approx. 27 GB). This is to make optimizations on PC resulting in a massively reduced Fortnite file size (over 60 GB smaller), smaller downloads for future patches, and improved loading performance.

The Epic Games giant wasn’t always so massive in storage space. Back in 2018 it only took 18GB to download, but due to map updates and skins it’s grown. Luckily Epic made some major changes to Fortnite and now more fans can enjoy the game without filling up their hard drive. Now if only other developers could do the same…I’m talking to you Activision.
