Paul Craig #9 vs. Johnny Walker #12

The main card of UFC 283 opens up with a light heavyweight bout between Paul Craig and Johnny Walker. Paul Craig is returning to the octagon after a loss versus Volkan Oezdemir in July 2022. On the other hand, Johnny Walker is making his return after an impressive first-round finish over Ion Cutelaba in September of last year. Both fighters have experience in the octagon against notable fighters, so it should be interesting to see how their styles match.

Paul Craig is more of a Jiu-Jitsu specialist, having memorable finishes over fighters such as Magomed Ankalaev, Mauricio Rua, Jamahal Hill, and Nikita Krylov.

Johnny Walker showed tons of potential when he joined the UFC, going on a four-fight win streak with three first-round finishes. After a few losses, Johnny Walker is looking to get back on another winning streak to try and get a shot at light heavyweight gold.

Lauren Murphy #4 vs. Jessica Andrade #6

The second fight of the night will feature the women’s former strawweight champion, Jessica Andrade. She will be facing the number four ranked flyweight, Lauren Murphy, who is coming off an impressive decision win over Miesha Tate. Jessica is also coming into this fight with a ton of hype due to her previous win over Amanda Lemos. In April of 2022, Jessica Penn pulled off the first ever standing arm triangle the UFC has ever seen.

Lauren Murphy opens up as a +390 underdog, while Jessica is a huge favorite at -490.

Gilbert Burns #5 vs. Neil Magny #12

The third fight on the card could potentially win the “fight of the night” award. It is a welterweight showdown between former title contender Gilbert Burns and UFC veteran Neil Magny. Gilbert Burns is returning to the cage after a loss against Khamzat Chimaev. Khamzat and Gilbert had a three-round war and were the runners-up for the Fight of the Year Award in 2022.

This will be a major step up in competition for Neil Magny, and a win over Gilbert Burns could bring Magny into title conversations.

Deiveson Figueiredo #C vs. Brandon Moreno #IC

For the fourth time in their careers, these two flyweights meet again in the co-main event to figure out who is the best flyweight. The record between the two is 1 draw, 1 win, and 1 loss. Due to injury, current champion Deiveson Figueiredo has not had a fight since his previous match against Brandon in January 2022. Brandon has been active, winning the interim flyweight championship against Kai Kara-France in July.

Deiveson has not fought a different opponent since 2020, so both fighters should be aware of what the other brings to the table.

This will be the first time ever in UFC history where the same fighters fight four times.

Glover Teixeira #2 vs. Jamahal Hill #7

The main event of UFC 283 includes the former light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira and the seventh-ranked light heavyweight Jamahal Hill. Glover, is the second-oldest champion in UFC history at age 42. He is taking an extreme challenge fighting a young knockout artist Jamahal Hill. Jamahal Hill is on a three-fight winning streak, all victories coming via knockout. On the other hand, Glover is returning to the octagon after losing his belt in a close fight against Jiri Prochazka.

Glover is known for his ground game, while Jamahal is known for his standup. This main event should be a stylistic war as both fighters are trying to obtain the undisputed light heavyweight championship.
