The Detroit Red Wings had seven different goal scorers in their 7-5 win over the Winnipeg Jets. In what was a chaotic game, Detroit (17-15-7) snapped their three game losing skid against a red hot Winnipeg team who heading into tonight was on a four game win streak.

Head Coach Derek Lalonde spoke post game saying “I liked that we scored and won the game.. but it was maybe our worst game of the year….  Bottom line is we were looking to find a win and we did that”

Mo’ Seider Ties Red Wings Record

Red Wings Defensemen Moritz Seider tied a franchise record tonight recording four assists. Three of those coming in the 20 minutes of play. Mo’ had a three point performance earlier in the season meanwhile seems to have finally hit his stride playing alongside Jake Walman. Seider now has 17 points on the year (2G,15A).

  3 Takeaways From Tonights Game

  • Andrew Copp has been playing better each night, looks to be almost 100% after having abdominal surgery this off-season. Copp tallied two assists in the first period of tonight’s game. One of those being a beautiful feed out front setting up Jonatan Berggren for his 7th goal of the year  . Andrew is now up to 23 points on the year (3G, 20A)

  •  While Dominik Kubalik didn’t light up the stat sheet like some of his teammates. It looked like a huge weight lifted off his shoulders.  After having an unreal start of the year, Dominik scored only three goals in the month of December, two of those coming in one game.

  • Defense wasn’t good besides a decent first period. Way too many scoring chances and opportunities for Winnipeg to get  back into the game. Husso stood on his head despite how many goals they scored, you cannot collapse defensively as a whole and rely on your goalie no matter how big of a lead you have.
