Red Wings – Sabres Preview
The Detroit Red Wings (4-2-2, 10 points) head into Buffalo for a Halloween night matchup against the Sabres (5-3-0, 10 points). Detroit had a clean sweep last season against Buffalo winning all four of their matchups. Although the Red Wings have recent success against the Sabres they cannot take this matchup lightly. Buffalo surprisingly has improved after finally moving on from star Jack Eichel meanwhile being off to their best start in years.
Detroit will still be without Oskar Sundqvist as he battles his upper body injury, along with Michael Rasmussen as he finishes the last game of his suspension. Alex Nedeljkovic will get the start in net tonight as Husso gets a rest day.
Happy Halloween & happy GAME DAY!

Has Razor Raymond returned for the Red Wings?
Detroit Red Wings‘ 2nd year forward Lucas Raymond hasn’t gotten off to the start most expected. In addition to his outstanding rookie year tallying 57 points (23 goals, 34 assists) expectations were set pretty high moving into 2022-23 season. Lucas was held to just two points in their first 7 games along with 5 straight games without a point. In desperate need of a turn around game, Lucas delivered in Detroit’s win over Minnesota. Raymond who has scored every time he has faced the Wild continued that, scoring twice Saturday night. Was this the spark Lucas Raymond needed to return to his normal self?
The lineup has been decimated just 8 games in. Losing guys like Tyler Bertuzzi along with Jakub Vrana early on will certainly leave some holes in the lineup. Bertuzzi missing time who has built so much chemistry with Raymond may have had the biggest affect on this slump. Lines being constantly moved around could be another reason to add. Ultimately with already injury riddled lineup and a team that is lacking offensive talent. Lucas getting back to his normal ways is detrimental for the Red Wings success.
