Offseason Additions

Yzerman went to work this offseason putting together pieces to complete this Red Wings lineup . Steve got his 1-2 punch in net trading for Ville Husso to pair up with up with Nedeljkovic, meanwhile bringing in guys like Ben Chariot, Andrew Copp, and David Perron who are veterans playing at a high level that will make an immediate impact for this team. You can’t shy away from the additions of Kubalik and Maatta, players with huge upsides on great contracts that bring depth to our lower lines.  I’ve predicted my Red Wings lineup for opening night barring any trades and or injuries.

Edvinsson Cracks The Lineup

Although I didn’t think it would happen this early, but with Jake Walman missing the start of the season due to shoulder surgery I believe Red Wings fans may get their first look at Simon Edvinsson. Simon spoke to the media during training camp and let them know his main goal is “to take a roster spot, to be in the lineup the first game”. General Manager Steve Yzerman was a bit surprised when he saw Edvinssson and said, “he’s thicker than I expected”.  Yzerman also noted that “he looks very strong, his skating is excellent. We’re optimistic. We’ll give him an opportunity”. Both Walman and Robby Fabbri missing time at the start of the season will be a big hit for this Red Wings lineup, but Yzerman has pieces in Grand Rapids and created depth through free agency that will hold this team over until they return.
