Coaches Comments

Head Coach Derek Lalonde talked about Detroit battling despite losing the Larkin, and just how important this win was for their playoff aspirations.  “Great road trip, finished off by a really good effort tonight. Obviously not ideal losing larks early on. Everyone kind of stepped up a little bit more. We managed our game great. Ville was huge. Just you know, something I hope we can build off, cause that was a pretty gutsy win.”

SUTER is SOARING’

Red Wings’ Forward Pius Suter has been instrumental in the recent success for Detroit. Scoring five goals in the last five games and earning a promotion to the first line after Captain Dylan Larkin’s early exit. Suter’s impressive two-way style has provided a much-needed boost during this critical stretch of games.  Suter said postgame “this was a huge game, Larks being out in the first period, everybody got little more ice time stepped up big and got the two points.”
