UFC Lightweight Rafael dos Anjos took to Instagram to post footage claiming Khabib Nurmagomedov tapped out during their bout in 2014. RDA and Khabib fought in April 2014 on the UFC on Fox: Werdum vs. Browne card. RDA was on a five fight win steak during the time, but lost the bout against Khabib via unanimous decision.

RDA Releases Footage Of Khabib “Tapping” During Fight

RDA making the claim that Khabib tapped SIX YEARS after their fight is a little too late. I get what Rafael is trying to do, but Khabib is retired. It’s over. You have to move on. Khabib isn’t going to come back to redo a fight that happened in 2014. There’s plenty of other fights in the Lightweight division for RDA, but here is what the former champ had to say about Khabib “tapping”…

Khabib said he is not interested in fighting Conor or Dustin as he choked both of them. He did not choke me. As a matter of fact I got him snoring until a slipping rib saved him from đŸ˜´. He beat me fair and square, but no one got closer to putting the Champ out. My plan was to beat his brother and go after that neck again. That plan felt apart for reasons beyond my control, but I will keep sharping my tools just in case he decides to come back and chooses me.

Again, I think all of us MMA would love nothing more than for Khabib to come back for one more fight. Truth is Khabib is a man of his word and he is retired for good. Not only does RDA have to move on, but so does the Lightweight division. The UFC really needs to decide what is next for the 155lb division and I’m praying that Poirier vs McGregor 2 isn’t for the “vacant” title. Best case scenario is the UFC matches the winner of Ferguson vs Oliveira and Poirier vs McGregor 2 to decide who will fight for the Lightweight title in the Spring or Summer.
