Michael Chandler is now a UFC fighter. Dana White announced today on Sportscenter that the former Bellator Lightweight champ will serve as a backup for the Khabib vs Gaethje fight at UFC 254. Chandler has talked about joining the world’s biggest MMA organization for years, and now will have a potential title shot if either fighter can’t make it to the octagon on October 24th.

“I’m The Best Lightweight In The World”

Chandler (21-5 in his professional MMA career) released this statement on Thursday to ESPN…

“Eventually, hard work pays off. You just have to still be standing there when it does. I’m humbled by the opportunity and can’t wait to go prove what I have been saying for the past 11 years; that I’m the best lightweight in the world. See you at the top!”

The UFC Lightweight division is even more stacked now thanks to the new UFC fighter. There’s so many potential fights for him, but could you imagine him filling in on October 24th?! A potential scrap between Chandler and Gaethje?! Madness!
