McGregor Demands Poirier Fight Happens In 2020
Conor McGregor has finally responded to Dustin Poirier and made it clear the only way he’s fighting in the UFC is if it happens in 2020. McGregor took to Twitter to reply to Poirier and offered a couple dates for the two to finally meet in the octagon…
UFC 256 Does Need A Main Event…
The UFC has a big spot to fill now that Usman and Burns are no longer headlining UFC 256 on December 12th. When you talk about who could fill the void, there’s no better answer than Conor McGregor. Love him or hate him, the man puts on a show every time he enters the octagon. This would be the perfect way to cap off 2020 for the UFC. Poirier wants another shot at McGregor, it doesn’t disrupt any current title fights, and its a fight all MMA fans want to see.
The only problem I have with this match up is getting too excited and it not happening. There’s been so many “potential” matches that fall through that I don’t want to get hurt again. The UFC needs to book this fight though as it will give a clearer picture as to who deserves a shot at the winner of Khabib vs Gaethje. It will be interesting to see if McGregor vs Poirier fight takes place at 170lbs or 155lbs.
Of course, I think we all knew that the UFC was not going to allow any sort of charity or exhibition match between McGregor and Poirier. The biggest UFC stars fighting outside of the octagon is something that just doesn’t happen unless they get a slice of the pie. Sure, McGregor fought Mayweather, but you know damn well Dana White earned himself some major cash for promoting that fight and traveling across the globe with Conor. Either way, the UFC could earn the biggest PPV numbers of the year by booking McGregor for UFC 256. Let’s hope and pray it happens!
