During the UFC Vegas 12 virtual media day call, Uriah Hall targeted Middleweight king Israel Adesanya and claimed the champ cherry picks his fights. Hall claims Adesanya only looks for easy fights and that it’s only a matter of time before he fights the champ.

He sees what I see, he sees a hole in all these guys. He’s already picking Cannonier, he’s looking for easy fights. Yeah, I said it. I know why he’s picking certain fights, but I’m dynamic, especially with the gym that I’m at right now, I’m focused. Laser focused. It’s just a matter of time. I’m just going to play the politic card and just whoever the UFC needs me to beat, or whoever the UFC thinks can beat me and get to the top.

Does Uriah Hall Have A Shot Of One Day Becoming The Middleweight Champ?

The UFC Middleweight division is one of the most stacked divisions in the UFC. When you look at both the records of Hall and Adesanya one thing that sticks out is Hall has lost to fighters Adesanya destroyed. Hall was knocked out by both Coasta and Brunson, both of which Adesanya knocked out. I understand Hall wants a shot at the belt one day, but to talk down to the champ seems silly considering what Adesanya has accomplished. Hall is reaching by making the suggestion that Adesanya cherry-picks his fights.

It’s absurd to think Adesanya picks easy fights. Yoel Romeo (I know, terrible fight), Robert Whittaker, and Paulo Costa are NOT easy fights. Those three are literally the best of the best in the Middleweight division. I know Hall is trying to make some noise in the division, but make noise in the octagon. Destroy Silva, get a couple impressive wins, and then work on a shot at the belt. Right now the Middleweight division has so many talented fighters that you really have to make a mark to even get a shot at someone in the Top 5.
