Tony Ferguson Returns To Fight Charles Oliveira On December 12th
A key match up in the Lightweight division will go down on December 12th as former Interim UFC Lightweight champ Tony Ferguson will face off against #6 Lightweight Charles Oliveira. Ferguson has been begging the UFC for another fight in 2020 after losing to Justin Gaethje at UFC 249. This match could potinetally decide who gets the next shot at the 155lb belt.
Ferguson vs Oliveira Is The Perfect Fight For Diehard MMA Fans
The Lightweight division is filled with so much talent, but this match up in particular is a special one. Before the loss to Justin Gaethje, Ferguson was riding a 12-fight win streak. El Cucuy is 25-4 in his MMA career with 12 wins by knockout and 8 by submission. Oliveira on the other hand is riding a 7-fight win streak with all 7 fights ending in finishes. Truth be told if anyone deserves a shot at the belt its Oliveira, but this match up is a super fight in my opinion and saves the UFC 256 card. Both fighters can pull off spectacular finishes and this fight has Fight Of The Year potential.
I could easily see either fighter getting a shot at the belt with a win, but there’s also Conor McGregor vs Dustin Poirier 2 to determine what happens next in the Lightweight division. Star power usually holds more weight than MMA skills in the UFC, so it will be interesting to see what happens. Could you imagine if Tony wins and Conor wins and the UFC sets up Ferguson vs McGregor for this Summer? Fireworks! A man can dream…
