A matchup that shook up injuries for several Detroit Lions may cause the team to lose D’Andre Swift for a couple games.

Swift has been struggling with an ankle injury he acquired in week one versus the Philadelphia Eagles. In Sunday’s game against the Minnesota Vikings, not only did his ankle injury flare up, but the NFL Network reported he also suffered a shoulder sprain.

Dan Campbell gave an injury update on Monday.

“Yeah, we’re looking at it, that shoulder’s a little sore, and so we’ll see where he’s at. But it could be an issue.”

He elaborated on the potential to keep Swift off the field for the next two weeks leading into a bye week. Campbell says they don’t want to put Swift on the field at the expense of him not even being 75% of himself.

“…every player’s got to be at a certain point to produce, and then not to mention the practice – not to be able to practice and get the detail of things,” said Campbell. “So that’s not fair to Swift either, to him or to us.”

Swift missed four games last year because of a shoulder sprain.

Amon-Ra St. Brown, Josh Reynolds, and most notably, Tracy Walker, all experienced injuries in Sunday’s 28-24 loss in Minnesota.

Walker will be out for the season because of an Achilles injury.

The Lions are back in Detroit this weekend for a matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
