This past week, UFC President Dana White went live on all social media platforms to announce upcoming fights for UFC 287.

Alex Pereira vs Israel Adesanya 2 – UFC 287

Middleweights Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya will face off at UFC 287 on April 8th. This fight is an anticipated rematch for the UFC Undisputed Middleweight Championship.

The two fighters have already fought three times: twice in kickboxing and once in MMA. Alex Pereira has won all three matchups, winning two of them by KO or TKO.

The previous matchup was in November 2022 at UFC 281. The two fighters put on an all-time classic, fighting until the fifth round, where Alex Pereira eventually got the finish. Israel Adesanya was up 3-1 going into the fifth round, but he could not finish the fight.

Both fighters are world-class kickboxers and have similar fighting styles.

Gilbert Burns vs Jorge Masvidal

Welterweight Jorge Masvidal is making his return against Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 as the co-main event. This will be Jorge’s first fight since the previous loss he took against Colby Covington at UFC 272.

Gilbert Burns made easy work out of Neil Magny a few weeks ago and has already planned his return. The Brazilian has his eye on another title shot and is hoping to have the chance after a win over Jorge.

On the other hand, Jorge has been on a three-fight losing streak against the top fighters in his weight class. Losing to Kamaru Usman and former teammate Colby Covington. A win over Gilbert Burns could raise him back up into the top five rankings and could potentially lead to a title fight.

Rob Font vs Adrian Yanez

Another notable fight that was confirmed by Dana White includes bantamweights Rob Font and Adrian Yanez.

Rob Font has been in the game for quite some time, with notable wins over Ricky Simon, Marlon Moraes, and Cody Garbrandt. He is currently on a two-fight losing streak, which includes bantamweight contender Marlon Vera and UFC Hall of Famer Jose Aldo.

Adrian Yanez is a widely known prospect in the division and is on a six-fight win streak since entering the UFC. Four of those victories have come by KO. This will undoubtedly be his most difficult test since joining the UFC, but a victory could propel him up the rankings.
