Cyberpunk 2077 is the newest upcoming release from CD Projekt Red. The development of Cyberpunk 2077 has been a roller coaster of emotion. Players have anxiously awaited the game’s arrival, but it has suffered delay after delay. As the official release date approaches, though, it looks like we’ll finally get our hands on the game. However, the makers of The Witcher 3 have been fighting to outshine themselves, creating a complex world based on Mike Pondsmith’s Cyberpunk franchise.
It is a sprawling project. Luckily, CD Project Red has been keeping us in the loop on what to expect. They’re feeding us piece by piece, so I thought I’d share a video to get everyone started on understanding the game. Their YouTube channel is constantly updated; They’ve released new gameplay videos to stir up some hype.
This title promises to deliver a massive open world with dynamic gameplay. Dynamic gameplay is simply this: Gameplay that defies the idea of scripted and linear scenarios, allowing players to approach any situation in numerous ways. Guns blazing is one strategy, but so are stealth and tactical play. This idea has revolutionized the way we play video games, and expectations are high for Cyberpunk 2077.
Official Gameplay
To the lawless world, Night City is the last great center of opportunity. Home to manufacturers of cutting-edge tech, one would think Night City would lead as an example for a civilized future. Yet, there is an open path to power where there is chance, and everyone wants it for themselves. What part will you play?
Cyberpunk 2077 is coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC on December 10th, 2020. Of course, it will be playable on the Xbox Series X|S and PS5 through backward compatibility. The release date for the next-gen versions is TBD. A different team is developing the multiplayer component. Look out for news about that in Q1 of 2021, but CD Projekt Red has us tempering our expectations – They say the multiplayer spin-off won’t come sooner than 2022.
