Boon’s Best Bet of the Week: Miami (OH) @ #20 Kentucky  7:00pm

Bet: #20 Kentucky -15.0

Starting my college football bets, I have one name. Will Levis. One of the nations top QBs matching up against a MAC school. I will take the points all day. This Kentucky teams returns a handful of weapons with Will Levis. Even with their top returning running back Chris Rodriguez out on a suspension, they have one of the best FCS transfer filling in at running back with Ramon Jefferson. On the other end of the ball, Kentucky returns a ton of their defense including their top 2 defenders from last season. This team was 10-3 last season and 8-4-1 against the spread. With as many returners as they have they are going to run this Miami (OH) team off the field today. HAMMER THIS PLAY.

Overs Play of The Week: #7 Utah @ Florida  7:00pm

Bet: OVER 51.5

I love this over. Last year the Utes were one of the best teams in the country going 11-2 and winning the PAC-12. This year they return a TON of weapons and that championship offense starting with their QB Cameron Rising, RB Tamion Thomas, and 2 TEs that put up big numbers last season. Yes, they are going on the road to play an SEC team, but the Gators are in their first season with new head coach Bill Napier. This Utah team that returns key pieces on offense were 7th in the country on overs going 9-5 in overs. I believe the Utes are going into the swamp and will win this game, and to do so they are going to have to put up 30+ points. I night game in the Swamp, we know anything can happen. But there is one guarantee. We need points. And lots of them.

Under Play of The Week: Troy @ #21 Ole Miss  4:00pm

Bet: UNDER 57

Week 1 it is really tough to find teams that will step up, get stops, and hold teams to no points. Last season, Ole Miss was 2-9-1 in unders. Lane Kiffin had this team rolling last year with an 1-3 record and they ended they year with there last 8 games going under. They added depth and a ton a transfers from the portal in on the defensive end to build their defense. Week 1 they pick up right where they left off, a 40-10 game to cash this under. I hate betting unders in college football, but sometimes you have to take one for the team.

Dog of the Week/Upset: #24 Houston @ UTSA  3:30pm

Bet: UTSA ML +155

I tried all day looking for an underdog and this was the only one that popped out to me. Houston at the Alamodome. If you paid attention to College Football last season, you know these were two elite teams in there conferences and it will most liekly be the same result this season. Houston is going to have a battle today, with UTSA winning there last 10 games at the Alamodome and I really do not see that streak coming to an end today. This is going to be an offensive heavy game, so if you want to hit the over at 62 also. The first top 25 team to lose this season will be Houston. The Dogs are barking!

BIG TEN Play: Colorado St. @ #8 Michigan  12:00pm

Bet: OVER 61.5

Did you think I would leave Michigan off of my card? This is one of my favorite plays for the whole slate. We all know about the Quarterback battle going on between Cade McNamara and JJ McCarthy. Todays game vs. Colorado St. Cade McNamara will get his start to prove he is the QB1 of this Michigan football team. Colorado St. just seems to be in the middle of this QB battle, and yes they do actually return a solid defense from last year, I do no believe it will be enough to hold this Michigan offense. McNamara is going to have a ton of weapons to work with today starting with Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards in the backfield. With a receiving core in Ronnie Bell and Cornelius Johnson, and lastly a solid TE crew with Erick All and Luke Schoonmaker. I believe this offense will explode tomorrow, so don’t be suprised if this squad throws up a 50 ball on Colorado St. and smash this over.

Super Conference Play: #5 Notre Dame @ #2 Ohio State  7:30pm

Bet: #17 Notre Dame +17.0

A college football playoffs type game week 1 in the Horseshoe, and it doesn’t get much better than this. EVERYONE seems to be all over Ohio State in this matchup. The talk is all about how great this Ohio State offense is with CJ Stroud, TreyVeon Henderson, and Jaxon Smith -Njugba. But the deeper I dig into this Notre Dame team, the more I keep leaning on their side. Yes, they lost Brian Kelly, but with Marcus Freeman at the helm he is a defensive coach and that is what it will take to stay in a game with this high powered Ohio State offense. Notre Dame should have one of the best defenses in the country this year with one of their biggest losses on that end being Kyle Hamilton. Freeman brought in Brandon Joseph from the transfer portal who has the potential of being one of best safeties in college football. They also return there leading tackler at linebacker and both of their elite corners. Don’t let this high powered Ohio State offense let you overlook how elite this Notre Dame defense can be. Give me the Fighting Irish with the points +17.

Bonus Play: #23 Cincinnati @ #19 Arkansas

Bet: #19 Arkansas -6.5

I have had my eye on this game since the lines came out for week 1 months ago. Arkansas was one of my favorite teams to watch last season putting up massive numbers in big games, especially vs. Alabama in a 42-35 loss and vs. Ole Miss in a 52-51 loss. This season might be the turn for Head Coach Sam Pittman with his electric QB KJ Jefferson who was one of the most exciting QBs in the nation last year. With Arkansas continuing to build off last season with returners, on the other side you have a Cincy team that lost some of their best players and leaders in that program in Desmond Ridder, Jerome Ford, Sauce Gardner, and Coby Bryant. I am extremely high on this Arkansas team this season, and getting a touchdown at home to open the season, I will hammer that everyday. Let’s have a day.
