The hype train just keeps rolling for Khamzat Chimaev. The Chechen-born fighter earned a TKO victory over Gerald Meerschaert on Saturday night in just 17 seconds in the 1st round. Chimaev used a total of 4 strikes to put away GM3.

Chimaev is 3-0 in the octagon, with all of his fights ending by either KO or submission. He now also holds the record for the fastest three fight winning streak in the UFC history at 66 days. In those 66 days he has adsorbed a total of two strikes. No, that isn’t a typo. Two. Strikes. Chimaev has landed 196 strikes.

Dana White of course had high praise for Chimaev and said its possible he could fight before his bout with Demian Maia.

The guy’s special. I’ve been in this game my whole life, I’ve never seen anything like him. He’s special. He’s different and he wants to fight again. I’ve never been in a position where I’m like, ‘Who’s next? How do we get him a fight? How do we get him over here, how do we get him over there? How do we do this, how do we do that?’ It’s fun and I like it and I think when you’re a fight fan a guy like this is who you love to watch and follow and hate and whatever it might be. This guy is one of the most special fighters I’ve ever seen, if not the most special guy that I’ve ever come across.”
