Cannonier Reveals Broken Arm Suffered in Whittaker Loss
Jared Cannonier Broke His Arm In The First Round Against Whittaker
Saturday night was a rough one for Jared Cannonier. During the first round against Robert Whittaker at UFC 254, Cannonier suffered a broken arm due to the first kick Whittaker threw in the fight. From there it was a rough night for Cannonier who stayed in the fight but you could tell something was off. It would also explain why Cannonier used his kicks more than his striking throughout the fight. The loss to Whittaker snapped Cannonier’s three fight win streak.
Whittaker vs Adesanya 2 Is The Next Fight To Make
Whittaker looked sharp in his return to the octagon and is now on a two fight winning streak. After defeating Till and Cannonier in impressive fashion, the next fight to make is Whittaker vs Adesanya 2. Whittaker has had enough time to learn from mistakes made in his fight against Izzy. He also has stayed active since the championship loss and so has Izzy, so setting the fight up for Spring or Summer 2021 would be perfect.
Whittaker vs Adesanya 2 and Volkanovski vs Ortega On The Same Card?!
If the UFC really wanted to blow the doors off in 2021 they’d set up Whittaker vs Adesanya 2 and Volkanovski vs Ortega and book it in Aukland, New Zeland. Yes, I know we’re still going through a global pandemic, but New Zeland is back to having crowds and if that trends continues the UFC could easily fill a stadium with those two fights. A card like the one mentioned above would do huge numbers not only in New Zeland, but worldwide. Izzy draws a crowd, and as much as I’ve enjoyed hearing every shot and corner talk with no crowds I want to get back to normal. The UFC has done a phenomenal job with keeping both fighters and staff safe during the COVID pandemic. I know if they go back to crowds Whittaker vs Adesanya 2 and Volkanovski vs Ortega would do record numbers.
