Abdelaziz: Chimaev Would Put McGregor In A Wheelchair
Ali Abdelaziz has high praise for his client, Khamzat Chimaev. Abdelaziz manages the likes of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Justin Gaethje, and Kamaru Usman. In a recent interview with TMZ, Abdelaziz put the entire Middleweight division on notice when it comes to Khamzat Chimaev, including of course Conor McGregor.
Dana White stated that Chimaev’s next fight will most likely fight Demian Maia, but he could also fight before that too, so anything is possible at this point. Ali Abdelaziz and Conor McGregor do not have a good relationship, so this statement comes as no surprise. Anyone remember UFC 229 press confence? Here’s a refresher when McGregor held nothing back describing how he feels about Abdelaziz…
Lets be honest though, Chimaev vs McGregor will most likely never happen. We don’t even know if Conor is going to ever come back, and if he does he has unfinished business to settle with Khabib and Nate before a discussion of a possible fight with Chimaev would ever happen. Plus, Chimaev is 3-0 in the octagon, with all of his fights ending by either KO or submission. McGregor isn’t going to get thrown to the wolves and fight Chimaev. It’s too much of a risk for the UFC.
Who will Chimaev fight next? I don’t think it will be Maia as he is at the tail end of his career and Chimaev deserves someone higher in the Middleweight division at this point. Plus, I don’t want to see Maia get dominated on his last fight. The man is a legend, so give him someone who also has a lengthy career, not a fighter who holds the record for the fastest three fight winning streak in the UFC history at 66 days and has adsorbed a total of of TWO strikes in three fights.
