The Lions re-signed linebacker and team captain Alex Anzalone on Monday. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network was first to report it.  He returns after signing a one-year deal last season worth $1.75 million dollars. https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/1635378825105399816?s=20 Anzalone recorded 125 tackles last season, including seven for a loss. Those 125 tackles are a career high for the linebacker. Alex came over via New Orleans, as he joined Dan Campbell

Garoppolo Finally Out of SF, Signs with Raiders

By |March 13th, 2023|Categories: NFL, Trending News|Tags: , |

Jimmy Garoppolo is finally no longer a San Francisco 49er. Sources told ESPN he agreed to a three-year, $67.5 million deal including $34 million guaranteed with the Oakland Raiders. For what it’s worth, Garoppolo, 31, played for Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels in New England. I’m sure their familiarity had something to do with the signing. The Raiders released longtime starter Derek Carr last month, who has

Michigan Basketball Shocks the World…No NCAA Tourney

By |March 13th, 2023|Categories: Michigan, NCAA|Tags: , , , |

The failure of Michigan Basketball to qualify for the NCAA tournament after six consecutive appearances since 2015 is disgraceful. Despite a roster boasting two first-round NBA talents, and Hunter Dickinson, who is arguably a top-5 big man in the nation, the team was left out of the 68-team field. They had a 17-15 record, with no significant wins against ranked opponents. Many argue their roster alone should

By |March 13th, 2023|Categories: Detroit Lions, NFL, Trending News|Tags: , , , |

The first domino fell for the Detroit Lions this free agency period. Just a couple of hours before the official start of the NFL free agency negotiating period, the Lions re-signed defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs. Per Tom Pelissero, the Lions are retaining Buggs on a two-year deal worth up to $6 million. https://twitter.com/TomPelissero/status/1635283480992153602 It is not the most exciting roster move, but it is an important one.

Weekend Golf Report: Scheffler Wins Again

By |March 13th, 2023|Categories: Golf, Trending News|Tags: , |

Scottie Scheffler regained control of the number one ranking in the world by winning the Players Championship on Sunday. He nearly obliterated the field, winning by five strokes over England’s Tyrell Hatton. Norway’s Viktor Hovland and American Tom Hoge finished tied for third, seven strokes back of Scheffler. Scheffler got off to a slow start, playing his first seven holes at one over par. He then birdied

The Lions must say no to Darius Slay, yes to Slay

By |March 13th, 2023|Categories: Detroit Lions, NFL, Trending News|Tags: , |

I am not an advocate of the Detroit Lions trading for Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay. The Lions punted him before because he could not keep his mouth shut. It is difficult to return home. And he is 32 years old, which is old for an NFL cornerback. I am in favor of the Lions trading for Slay. The Lions did not punt him. The failed leadership

By EDDIE PELLS AP National Writer The top overall seed, Alabama, has been on a roll despite being entangled in a murder case. Another No. 1 seed, defending national champion Kansas, is coming off a blowout loss and has a coach coming out of the hospital. Yet another, Houston, just watched its best player go down in a heap with a scary injury. This year’s March Madness frontrunners might be anything

Former Detroit Red Wing Tyler Bertuzzi was met by a mixture of cheers and boos for his highly anticipated return to Little Caesars Arena during the Wings 5-3 victory over the Boston Bruins Sunday afternoon. While many came to see the high flying Bruins, Red Wings captain Dylan Larkin and Calder Trophy winner Moritz Seider stole the show. Larkin's performance was particularly impressive as he rose up

The Jalen Ramsey idea to the Detroit Lions is not going to happen. Per Adam Schefter, the Rams are sending cornerback Jalen Ramsey to the Dolphins for tight end Hunter Long and Miami's third-round draft pick (77th overall). The trade will be official as of Wednesday. https://twitter.com/AdamSchefter/status/1634981831841038337?s=20 Last month, Lions wide receiver Amon Ra St. Brown tweeted out he would not mind seeing the All-Pro cornerback in
