NFL playoffs: No lead safe, drama abounds in wild weekend
By DAVID BRANDT AP Sports Writer The Buffalo Bills blew a 17-point advantage before recovering to win Sunday. That narrow escape came less than 24 hours after the Jacksonville Jaguars overcame a 27-point deficit and pulled off one of the most stunning comeback victories in playoff history. No lead is safe, and the drama abounds so far in the NFL playoffs. A loaded Sunday schedule saw the
Defensive TD Edges Bengals Past Ravens 24-17
A few inches seemed to make the difference for the Ravens Sunday night against the Bengals. The whole trajectory of the game changed when Ravens QB Tyler Huntley fumbled at the goal line, reaching over a pile of defenders. Bengals LB Logan Wilson knocked the ball loose. DE Sam Hubbard picked it up and returned the fumble for a 98-yard touchdown. This gave Cincinnati the 24-17 lead
Tuscaloosa murder involves Alabama basketball player

He, along with 20-year-old Michael Lynn Davis of Maryland, shot and killed a young woman after a verbal altercation early Sunday morning. According to AL.com, the victim in the shooting was 23-year-old Jamea Jonae Harris, who was pronounced
T.J. Hockenson’s Performance Not Enough in 31-24 Loss to Giants
Despite 10 catches for 129 yards from mid-season acquisition T.J. Hockenson, the Vikings could not find a way to win against the New York Giants. Many thought this matchup would be the upset of the week. They were right. It is the first playoff win for the Giants since 2011. The Vikings and Giants already squared off earlier this season. Minnesota won 27-24 on a 61-yard game-winning
Bills Fend Off Dolphins Comeback to Win 34-31
The Buffalo Bills saw their early 17-point lead fade away in the last minute of the first half. However, Josh Allen and the Bills rallied to win a narrow 34-31 contest. Cole Beasley gave the Bills the lead with a six-yard score towards the end of the third quarter. Buffalo would not trail after that. It was a closer game than people imagined. Miami was starting Skylar
Detroit Pistons Fight Tough, But Fall To Knicks 117-104
Well, that looked like a normal basketball game for the Detroit Pistons versus the New York Knicks. If you haven't seen the Pistons prior games against them, do yourself a favor and keep it that way. Whether it was preseason, regular season or just running out of the tunnel, the Knicks have continued to play the Pistons like it's game seven of the NBA Finals. Something I've
Pistons lose 11th straight to Knicks
by Dave Hogg (Associated Press) DETROIT (AP) — Julius Randle had 42 points and 15 rebounds as the New York Knicks extended their winning streak against the Detroit Pistons to 11 games with a 117-104 victory Sunday. Detroit hasn't beat the Knicks since Nov. 6, 2019, the end of its eight-game winning streak over New York. Jalen Brunson added 27 points for the Knicks and Immanuel Quickley
Dunk of the Year? R.I.P. to the Rim
Ja Morant very well may have completed the dunk of the year last night. With 4:21 left in the 3rd quarter, Morant crossed over Pacers forward Oshae Brissett behind the 3-point line and erupted towards the basket. Pacers big man, Jalen Smith, was the only thing standing in between Morant and the rim. Smith should have gotten out of the way.... Morant only needed one dribble before
9 MASSIVE Contract Buyouts: Big Ten Coaches
Jim Harbaugh's ranking among Big Ten coaching contract buyouts will surprise many people. This detail, most notably, makes it significantly easier for Harbaugh to bolt back to the big leagues if offered a NFL contract. I remember being blown away when Larry Brown's buyout was announced after he was fired from the Pistons in 2005. His contract included a clause that paid him $7M of the nearly
Lawrence rallies Jaguars from 27 down to beat Chargers 31-30
By Mark Long, AP Pro Football Writer JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) — Trevor Lawrence followed four interceptions with four touchdown passes — one of the most improbable turnarounds in NFL postseason history — and rallied the Jacksonville Jaguars to a 31-30 victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday night. Lawrence engineered the winning drive, highlighted by Travis Etienne's 25-yard run on a fourth-and-1 play, and put the
Detroit Tigers International Signing Preview
The Detroit Tigers add a new crop of international players On Sunday the Detroit Tigers can officially announce their signings for the 2022 international class. The world of international baseball signings, particularly in Latin America, is shady at best, and sometimes outright criminal. Picture pre-NIL college recruiting. Then add in elements of usury, human trafficking, and the general ickiness of child beauty pageants. That gets you about
Red Wings cant hold off Laine
By DANA GAURUDER Associated Press DETROIT (AP) — Patrik Laine had his 10th NHL hat trick and the Columbus Blue Jackets snapped a 10-game road losing streak, holding off the Detroit Red Wings 4-3 on Saturday night. Laine, whose previous hat trick came Feb. 17 last season against Chicago, had gone scoreless in his last nine games. Vladislav Gavrikov also scored for the Blue Jackets, and Johnny
