Week 2 of the NFL season was full of fantasy football excitement, disappointment, and everything in between. There were also plenty of injuries, and fantasy teams are certainly looking to either find replacements or just upside bench depth. Here are 5 players on the fantasy radar as waiver wire pickups for Week 3 (percentages according to ESPN):
WR Garrett Wilson (NYJ) – 70% Rostered
Jets rookie Garrett Wilson had a fantastic game on Sunday in their improbable comeback victory against the Browns. Wilson finished the game with 8 receptions for 102 yards and 2 touchdowns, the second one being the game-winner. He is receiving a healthy target share from veteran QB Joe Flacco, who is confirmed to be the starter heading into Week 3. The rookie seems to be the go-to target over teammates Corey Davis and Elijah Moore, which is a huge sign of confidence. He is still available in plenty of leagues, and managers should scoop him up ASAP. Wilson should be a one of the top waiver wire pickups with potential to replicate Sunday’s performance.

WR Jahan Dotson (WAS) – 60% Rostered
Dotson managed to turn four receptions into an 18-point fantasy performance on Sunday versus the Lions. It is a very similar output compared to Week 1, where the rookie only had 3 receptions, but two of them were for touchdowns. Dotson will need to prove to managers that he is not TD dependent. QB Carson Wentz is not afraid to throw the ball around, especially if they continue to be down in games. He should still be viewed as a boom-bust player. He definitely deserves a roster spot and can even be trusted as a FLEX play.
RB Darrel Williams (ARI) – 3.6% Rostered
James Conner left the game early for the Cardinals on Sunday with an ankle injury, although it is not considered to be serious. However, managers can still prepare in case Conner were to reinjure himself or miss time long-term. Williams would be the next man up if Conner were to miss any time, and he has proven to be a serviceable fantasy asset. Williams was productive in relief of Conner, finishing the game with 59 yards on eight carries (7.38 YPC) and a touchdown; he also got a couple receptions. The 27-year-old is only startable if Conner is absent but should be worth a waiver claim at the moment if you have an open roster spot.
QB Tua Tagovailoa (MIA) – 64% Rostered
What a performance from Tua!! 36 completions for 469 yards and SIX TOUCHDOWNS!! This is not what managers should expect from Tua moving forward. However, it is great to see for his development and his overall confidence. Both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have significantly helped Tua become an improved passer. Both can stretch the field to make big plays. The Dolphins host the Bills next week, which is a worrisome matchup. Regardless, Tua is worth the pickup for teams recoving from the loss of Trey Lance. Tua put the league on notice with his performance on Sunday. He certainly captured the eyes of many fantasy managers.

QB Jimmy Garoppolo (SF) – 1% Rostered
Speaking of Trey Lance, his reliever, Jimmy Garoppolo, may be fantasy relevant again. When Jimmy G was the starter, he was a mid to high end streamer. He should be considered that now, but that is maybe what some managers need. We were still waiting to see Lance elevate the offense, but there were no noticeable signs though a week and a half. We know what a Jimmy G-led offense looks like, which is arguably better for this season if the 49ers want to compete. Garoppolo threw for 154 yards and a touchdown, in addition to a rushing TD in their win against Seattle. Jimmy G can be an option worst-case scenario.
