UFC Flyweight Rachael Ostovich has been cut by the UFC. The organization plans to trim down their roster by 60 fighters by the end of 2020, and after going 1-4 in her UFC career, Ostrovich has been released from the MMA giant.
Ostovich Is Just The Start Of A Massive UFC Cut
Ostovich being released from the UFC shouldn’t come as a shock, in fact it’s just the beginning of a massice cut to the roster. UFC President Dana White announced on Saturday that the UFC will be cutting 60+ fighters by the end of the year. Considering the UFC has 600+ fighters on their roster if my math is correct that’s a 10% cut of their roster. Although this is all pretty much expected, it still sucks. There are going to be cuts that don’t make sense. Legends will be forced out of the biggest MMA organization. Nothing is fun about losing your job especially when it’s in front of the entire world.
Ostovich will most likely have a hard time finding another MMA gig. Sure, she’s fought in the UFC, but that isn’t always a good thing especially when you’re 1-4 in the organization. The UFC will continue to bring in new talent with the DWCS and trim the roster. We will continue to keep you updated with the latest cuts in the UFC.
