The Detroit Lions host the Washington Commanders, who won impressively over Jacksonville on Sunday. However, as first reported by Chris Cwik of Yahoo Sports, their merch team had a big mixup. The truck outside of the stadium was selling mugs with the new Washington Commanders logo on it, but with the state of Washington behind it.
From team official: These were not INSIDE the stadium. Instead, they were being sold at a truck just outside it https://t.co/DoXPlXEbIJ

However, the confusion of where they actually play has some merit to it. Their home city, of course, is Washington, D.C but they play their home games in Landover, Maryland. Last, the team headquarters are in Ashburn, Virginia. The Washington D.C. Metro area includes parts of both states. So it just seems rather odd that the mixup was that huge.
Regardless, the Lions look to extend their home winning streak against the Commanders on Sunday. Detroit beat Washington at home back in 2020, 30-27 on a 59-yard kick by Matt Prater at the end of regulation.
