Ned & The Newcomers Come up Huge
Red Wings Goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic came up big with a dominant 37 save performance that kept Detroit in the game early. Combine that with Husso’s shutout on Friday night, Detroit’s goaltending has been an early plus so far.
The off-season acquisitions came to play tonight and showed truly why this team can be so dangerous. Newcomers David Perron, Copp, Kubalik, Maatta along with Ben Chiarot combined for 6 points tonight in Detroit’s win

Bertuzzi Injured, Zadina’s time to Shine?
Tyler Bertuzzi left early in the 2nd period after blocking he did not return to the game. Although Detroit hopes to have Bertuzzi back for Monday’s matchup against the Kings. Unlike past years this Red Wings roster has great depth at the forward position.
Red Wings’ Filip Zadina has been healthy scratched the first two games of the regular season. If Bertuzzi was to miss some time this would be the perfect opportunity for Zadina to step up.
UPDATE: Tyler Bertuzzi will not return tonight.
