Detroit Red Wings are coming off a huge win last night at LCA against the Tampa Bay Lightning. In what was almost deemed as a must win scenario with going 0-4-2 in the six games prior. Detroit now will have the whole week off just ahead of their Christmas break. Friday night’s game against the Ottawa Senators is now being rescheduled to February 27th due to severe weather.

Red Wings’ Snow Day Coming at the Perfect Time?
This holiday break couldn’t have come at a better time for the Red Wings. Not only do these players deserve a week off to spend time with their families after the extensive amount of work they’ve put in thus far. But it’s the perfect opportunity for this roster to regain as a whole.
Coach Lalonde spoke after last night’s game saying “It’s amazing how things change quickly, you go from answering 0-4-2 questions to now we’ve taken 3 out of 4 points against two very good teams. So i’m sure there will be some confidence from this”
Aside from the huge confidence boost and weight lifted off their shoulders, Detroit now has seven days for guys like Dylan Larkin along with Olli Maatta to try and get back to 100%. Not to mention this could speed up the process moving forward for Jakub Vrana to make his return to the lineup.
32 games in to the year we’ve only seen the Red Wings at full force for about two to three games. Moving into the new year all signs are pointing up for the roster returning to full strength.
