Despite the Detroit Red Wings’ disappointing 5-2 loss to the Florida Panthers, but there were some positive aspects to take away from the game. One of the highlights was the performance of Simon Edvinsson, who playing in only his second NHL game since being called up from Grand Rapids. At 6’6, there were initial concerns about how the young defenseman would adapt to the NHL and use his size and abilities effectively, but he displayed promising signs of progress. Even though we have only seen a limited amount of his play, Detroit fans should already be excited to witness what he can achieve with a full season under his belt.
