The Detroit Red Wings displayed tremendous heart tonight. Rallying from down four goals early scoring five unanswered goals in their incredible 5-4 comeback win against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

It what was an overall sluggish first period from the Red Wings returning from nearly a week off. Ville Husso let in four goals on 12 shots in the first period to start the night. Husso was later pulled heading into the second period for Magnus Hellberg.

Moving into the second period, Detroit came alive. They looked like a completely different coming out of the intermission. Captain Dylan Larkin started the rally scoring seven minutes after perfect positioning out front battling for a loose puck. Ben Chiarot showcased his offensive ability tonight, making two beautiful plays at the blue line that lead to goals by both Jonatan Berggren and Joe Veleno.

David Perron with just three minutes remaining in regulation scored his 12th goal of the year sending this game into OT. After what was a rollercoaster 60 minutes of regulation. Then came even crazier overtime. Andrew Copp rung the post before the next rushwhen Jake Walman tapped in the OT Winner on a 2 0n 1. Walman’s goal completed the comeback meanwhile, he topped it off with an all-time celly.

The Red Wings outshot the Penguins 46-31 on the night. Magnus Hellberg went a clean 19/19 on the night subbing in for Ville Husso.
