In their last game at Little Caesars Arena this season, the Red Wings were thoroughly dominated by the Dallas Stars, resulting in a disappointing 6-1 loss in their home finale. Following the game, Derek Lalonde commented that the Red Wings struggled from the start and were unable to recover against a strong opponent. Despite the loss, the team remains hopeful and focused on finishing the season on a positive note.

It’s one of those games just didn’t go for us tonight.  We come out of the first period, we haven’t registered for two chances and they have three goals. On the registered seventh chance, they’ve got six goals. That’s not solely on our goalies.  A couple of mistakes. Goal number three, easy breakdown for an easy goal against that team is too good and too healthy prime for a playoff run to give them anything easy. Unfortunately tonight, we did.

After the game, Andrew Copp expressed his gratitude to the fans for their unwavering support and emphasized the significance of Hockeytown to the team.

“It’s really important to put that aside for five, 10 minutes. Like I said to acknowledge their support and how important they are to our team.  The collection of the Detroit Red Wings and the fans in the city, I mean, it’s called Hockey Town for a reason. That’s an important bond that  hasn’t seemed to be broken over the last few years. It’s important for us to do our part and strengthen that.”

Detroit will travel to Carolina to take on the Hurricanes Tuesday. They then conclude their season on Thursday in Tampa Bay against the Lightning.
