The Detroit Red Wings led by Lucas Raymond and J.T. Compher orchestrated a remarkable 3rd period comeback against the New York Islanders. Initially trailing 2-0 early in the 3rd period, Detroit responded with three consecutive goals credited to Jake Walman, Daniel Sprong, and J.T. Compher, surging into the lead.
Despite conceding a late power-play goal to the Islanders, tying the game at 3-3 and forcing overtime, the Red Wings persevered. In what was another thrilling overtime showdown, Raymond and Compher capitalized on an Islanders’ crucial mistake in their zone, meanwhile executed a beautiful back and forth that lead to Lucas Raymond 3rd goal of the year and the OT Winner to secure two invaluable points for Detroit.

Red Wings Rally Featuring Razor Raymond
Lucas Raymond spoke with the media following the game, addressing inquiries regarding the significance of the win and the collective team effort. “Win was huge. We’ve come into third period down now a couple games in a row, and haven’t been able to pull through. So to be able to come out with this one, I think that means a lot.”
Raymond was also asked about what the message was in the locker room leading into that third period, responding with. “Just play our game. I think we put together two really good periods and we didn’t really get rewarded. I think we came out in the third and just kept doing what we were doing. Except that the pucks were falling.”
