The Detroit Tigers are forced to go to a bullpen start after Matt Manning experienced arm fatigue before his start tonight.
Per the Tigers, right-hander Matt Manning was scratched from tonight’s start due to arm fatigue. He will be further evaluated after tonight’s game. Will Vest started the game out of the bullpen.

Manning has been on the IL this season due to right shoulder inflammation. So with the end of the season around the corner, this could be his final start of the season. We will keep you updated as the news comes out. Detroit finishes their home schedule on Sunday against the Twins before they finish the season in Seattle.
11:PM update: Both A.J. Hinch and Matt Manning spoke to the media after the game. It appears to be he is looking forward to 2023.
Matt Manning reported arm fatigue before his scheduled start tonight. Sounds like it's unlikely he will pitch again this season given where the Tigers are at in the schedule.
A.J. Hinch said the Tigers "feel like he's fine." Manning said he felt tightness more in his forearm.
