The Middleweight title fight between Kamaru Usman vs Gilbert Burns has been scrapped for UFC 256. Amanda Nunes vs Megan Anderson is currently the only title fight on the card, so will the UFC push that fight up to the headline spot or find another bout to fill the void? Sure, Nunes does draw PPV numbers, but I can think of a couple other fight the UFC could fill the empty spot with.
Jones vs Adesanya Needs To Happen In 2020
UFC 256 needs a big fight to headline the card with Usman out, and there’s no better pick than Jones vs Adesanya. The two fighters have been destroying one another on social media for months, and its a fight that wouldn’t disturb any other divisions if the fight is at 205. With Jones out of the LHW title picture, he can fight Izzy and it won’t put the title on the line or block up the divson. Adesanya can simply move up in weight and put his Middleweight belt on hold for a bit to compete in the super fight. It’s the fight all MMA fans want to see and it would be a real test for both fighters if they can come to an agreement on weight and make it happen.
Continuing The 2020 Momentum With UFC 256
The UFC has had quite the run this year with phenomenal PPV cards. From McGregor vs Cowboy at UFC 246, to Gaethje vs Ferguson at UFC 250, this years has been one to remember for UFC fans. It’s insane to think the UFC has pulled this all off during a pandemic, but I have to give props to Dana and the boys for keeping fans highly entertained during the COVID outbreak. White and the team could’ve easily hit pause on the 2020 calendar and waited for the virus to disappear, but instead he worked his ass off and moved things to Fight Island.
