A Change of Heart. Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown and Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald have announced that they will be leaving Donda Sports, the marketing agency of Kanye West. Both men signed their deals with the marketing agency earlier this summer.
Brown initially announced he was staying with West’s agency on late Monday evening in an interview with the Boston Globe. However, it appears as the young star has had a change of heart on his decision.
“In the past 24 hours, I’ve been able to reflect and better understand how my previous statements lack clarity in expressing my stance against recent insensitive public remarks and actions. For that I apologize”, Brown said in an official statement. “In light of that, after sharing in conversations, I now recognize that there are times when my voice and my position can’t coexist in spaces that don’t correspond with my stance or values. And for that reason, I’m terminating my association with Donda Sports.”
Donald also released an official statement on his departure with the agency. “Our family has made a decision to part ways with Donda Sports. The recent comments and displays of hate and antisemitism are the exact opposite of how we choose to live our lives and raise our children. We find them to be irresponsible and go against everything we believe as a family.”
The separation is a continued result of splitting business ventures with West. It was announced earlier this week that his partnerships with Balenciaga and Adidas were terminated. He was also dropped as a client from Creative Artists Agency on Monday.
