Glover Teixeira tested positive for Covid-19 taking him out of the UFC Main Event.

UFC Light Heavyweight Glover Teixeira is out of his main event fight against Thiago Santos. He tested positive for Covid 19. The UFC is searching for a new main event for the September 12th card, but no announcement yet. This highly anticipated fight is huge considering rumors swirled around the web that whoever won this matchup would go against the winner of Dominick Reyes vs Jan Błachowicz. Reyes vs Blachowicz will fight for the vacant Light Heavyweight title on September 26th.

Teixeira’s last fight in the octagon was in May in which he earned a 5th round knockout against Anthony Smith. At 40 years old, the UFC veteran is on a four fight win streak and is a major title contender. We’ll have more news on this story as it develops.
