Nowadays all it takes is one tweet to people speculate. Of course, the latest video from UFC title contender Gilbert Burns could just be simply that, a video, BUT considering Bellator Michael Chandler is a free agent has us wondering if Chandler will be making his debut soon. The video isn’t much to be honest, and Burns and Chandler do both visit Sanford MMA Gym regularly, but I want to believe. For so many years the UFC has been the home to the best of the best, while Bellator is known to some as the “B League” organization. I do not share that opinion personally, but I know that UFC is pretty much a monopoly at this point and Bellator does tend to scoop up former UFC fighters. Here’s the video Burns posted today on Twitter…
Could you imagine Chandler signing a three fight deal and joining the UFC? The UFC Lightweight division is currently STACKED, but what better way to find out if the UFC is the cream of the crop than to have Chandler make his debut in 2021 and fight someone in the top 10. Could you imagine Chandler vs Hooker? What about Chandler vs Felder? Regardless, with a record of 21-5, Chandler has beaten some of the best in MMA. Period. His two fights against Eddie Alvarez (which resulted in 1-1 in the series) will go down in history as one of the best fights ever. I think at 34 years old, Chandler needs to make the move to the UFC now and test his skills against others in the UFC Lightweight division.
