Interm Lightweight champ Justin Gaethje is set to fight Khabib Nurmagomedov on October 24th, but the KO artist took time out of training to address the recent Conor McGregor drama. McGregor and Dana White have been going back and forth after McGregor called White out for not booking him a fight and White accusing Conor of ‘breaking man code’ by releasing private messages between the two. “Not a good look lying on the boss” – Gaethje
Justin and Conor have a history of going back and forth on social media. Recently, Gaethje admitted that he had the chance to fight McGregor but decided to turn the fight down for a title shot against Khabib. I mean, can anyone really blame him? Regardless of how you feel about Gaethje, it;s honorable to go after your life long dreams of winning a belt instead of taking a money fight. Gaethje held nothing back addressing McGregor. Gaethje took to Twitter on Saturday saying the UFC superstar was quiet when asked about a match in January.
Although I’d love to see Justin take on Conor, following the path of getting a title makes more sense and the fight between McGregor and Gaethje will always be there. Well, I mean, unless Conor stays “retired” and doesn’t enter the octagon again. I don’t see that happening though, and I think after his rumored fight with Manny Pacquiao we’ll see Conor back to fight the winner of Gaethje and Khabib.
