Edwards Suffers Another Canceled Fight Due To COVID
Leon Edwards vs. Khamzat Chimaev is scraped as Edwards tested positive for COVID-19. The UFC is planning on moving the fight to a later date. Edwards has has anything but an easy year as this his second fight to be canceled. Edwards vs Woodley was originally booked for March 2020, but was canceled due to the pandemic outbreak. Now, Leon has been diagnosed with COVID-19 and his match against Chimaev has been postponed.
The UFC is working on booking the match for early 2021. According to sources Leon has had a tough time with the virus. Sources say he couldn’t train and has lost 12 pounds in 4 days. Sure, he’ll most likely recover from the illness, but its just further proof that Leon is one of the most unlucky fighters in the UFC. As far as Khamzat Chimaev goes it wouldn’t surprise me if he takes another fight on December 19th. It will be interesting to see what happens with this card.
