Living Up To The C
Back in 2015 we got a glimpse into the Red Wings future. A hometown kid from Waterford Township, Dylan Larkin swept us off our feet. It seemed since his first game dawning the winged wheel that he was destined for greatness. He was destined to bring back the tradition of Hockey Town and its winning culture.
Dylan Larkin Delivers
In his rookie season with Detroit, Dylan left us on the edge of our seat. Excited about this team going forward. Making exciting plays with his quickness, leaving it all on the ice nightly is exactly the grit and grind this city bleeds. Showing signs of leadership and showing maturity at age 19 while producing at an outstanding rate was all we hoped and grieved for with the 15th overall pick in the 2014 NHL Draft. 3 years later on October 3rd 2018 Dylan Larkin was given the captaincy of the Detroit Red Wings. He then led the team in points with a career high 72 points while netting 32 goals. Setting the bar early as a leader going forward and showing that this is his calling.
Fast Forward To The Future
We are 3 years into the Yzerplan era with nothing but a bright future ahead. Steve has been producing high level draft picks along with signing quality free agents. All while making trades to carve this team’s future. In doing so he has brought along young stars Mo Seider, Lucas Raymond that have developed a special type of chemistry with Detroit’s Captain and star forward Tyler Bertuzzi to create a dangerous line moving forward. In his first year with the high powered flashy young stars. Dylan Larkin is on pace to have the best year of career so far with 59 points through 48 games tallying 26 goals 29 assists. He is currently Top 15 in the NHL in points with showing no signs of slowing down all while leading and grooming the youngest team in the league into a force to be reckoned with.
