Coach Lalonde on Red Wings’ Playoff Push: “I’m More Excited About Playing Well”
‘Head Coach Derek Lalonde spoke postgame about the win, the possibility of a play-off push but, more importantly the consistency of play.
It was a really good road win. Big moment in the game was our two penalty kills at the end of the second period. Obviously Ville had a big part of them, We got a little puck luck there too. I thought we managed our third period way better than we did last time. Good start to it. managed it. And overall it’s just a really good road win.
You gotta try to string some things together and we’ve done that. I’m more excited about playing well. Four games back from the break, and, one of our better games might have been the game we had lost. So little consistency within our game. That’s four pretty good efforts since we’ve been back from the break. Now we’ve got a huge test with Edmonton on the road.
