Former UFC Champ Dominick Cruz Returns After UFC 249 Loss To Henry Cejudo
#10 ranked UFC Bantamweight Dominick Cruz is set to make his UFC return on March 6th 2021 at UFC 259. Cruz will face 16-2 Casey Kenney who made his debut in the UFC in March 2019. Although Kenney is not in the top 15 Bantamweight rankings he currently is on a three fight win streak and is 5-1 in the UFC.
Kenney Is The Perfect Test For The Dominator
Since losing to Henry Cejudo in May 2020, Dominick has been MIA from the octagon. His career has been plagued by injuries over the years and although he hasn’t fought since his TKO loss at UFC 249, in my opinion Cruz does not suffer from ring rust. Cruz is one of those fighters that gets in the octagon and it’s like watching a master class on how to preform. Sure, The Dominator is 1-2 in his last three fights, but he should never be counted out. Before his loss to Cody Garbrandt in 2016 Cruz was on a 13 fight win streak. Cruz is also the former WEC Bantamweight and UFC Bantamweight Champion. Oh, and he’s one of the only fighters to beat one of the greatest of all time, Demetrious Johnson.
This is a perfect fight for both Cruz and Kenney. Cruz needs to continue to prove that he is a dominant fighter in the Bantamweight division. Kenney needs a big name to test his skills and prove he is a top 15 fighter. It doesn’t get much better than this.
