The final countdown is over and the season finale is upon us.  In the biggest matchup of the season, the Detroit Lions get ready to take on the Green Bay Packers on Prime Time at Lambeau Field.

It’s been a whirlwind of a season for the Lions as they started the 2022 season 1-6.  Since then, they’ve bounced back and won seven of their last 10 games.  Not only do they still have a chance at a playoff game, but they also have the opportunity to end their season with a winning record.

The team knows they need more than just a win to make it to the playoffs.  Their cards lie in the hands of the L.A. Rams first.  The Lions need the Rams to beat the Seattle Seahawks in order to play for a chance at the playoffs.  That game is played Sunday at 4:25pm, meaning the Lions will know their fate before their game even starts.  Head Coach Dan Campbell says he’ll be watching that game at least to some capacity.

“I mean I’ll watch. I’ll probably watch, more just to see the score. I don’t want to get invested in it emotionally. I just want to see the score periodically. That’s me, and I know our guys will be looking at the score, but I think that that’s – just keep it at arms’ length is what I would say. That’s the best way to approach it.”

There’s no doubt the game being at Lambeau Field against the Green Bay Packers brings a challenge.  Not only do they have an elite quarterback in Aaron Rodgers, but they also have a tricky field to play on with ruthless fans. With so much at stake, Coach Campbell and the team are looking at this game as a playoff game.

“…there’s one objective and that’s about winning this game and it’s us or it’s nobody. I think that’s the most important thing.”

The Lions will have DeShon Elliott back on the field today after missing two games with a shoulder injury.  They have also elevated RB Jermar Jefferson and CB Jarren Williams from the Practice Squad to the Active/Inactive List.

Kick-off at Lambeau Field is set for 8:20pm ET.
