The Detroit Lions look to keep their winning streak alive as they face the New York Jets on Sunday.  They have won five of their last six games and have been on quite the hot streak.  It’s clear this is a completely different Lions team than the 1-6 team that started the season.

The big news for this game centered around the New York Jets quarterback.  Mike White was not able to be cleared after suffering multiple consecutive rib fractures last week against the Bills.  The quarterback said he tried almost 10 doctors, and none of them would give him the green light.  With that being said, Zach Wilson will be starting in the quarterback position for the Jets.  Lions Head Coach Dan Campbell spoke Friday, saying the switch in quarterbacks doesn’t change their game plan.

“Nothing. I mean, we kind of had an idea. So, we’re ready. We knew he was going in the game anyway, so we figured they were going to play him. So, it’s really – same thing, man, it’s about being disciplined and we know what kind of game this will be. What they’re going to want to do offensively. So, we’ve got to play our keys, we’ve got to be disciplined. We’ve got to run, we’ve got to hit, all the same things that we know here.”

A big potential hurdle for the Lions offense will be Jets stud, Quinnen Williams.  Even Coach Campbell referred to the player as a “monster.” However, the defensive lineman did not practice all week with a calf injury and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game.

The Lions have been hit with a bit of the illness bug, but currently are only expected to be without Derrick Barnes and Kayode Awosika.

Kick-off at MetLife Stadium is set for 1pm ET.
