Sean Payton joined The Herd with Colin Cowherd to discuss many NFL topics. Dan Campbell being one of them.
Mike Vrabel was the topic to discussion. Colin brought up how he was a former player and his team would run through walls for him.
The conversation starts at the 6:22 mark:
The conversation then transitioned to the Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell. Sean Payton goes on to say, “When I was in the interview process for Dan Campbell, I said that this guy (Campbell) has a chance to be the offensive version of what Vrabel is to the Titans.”
“There’s a stature, he’s a former player. He’s a tough guy” Payton says about his former TE Coach.
Colin follows up the comparison by saying, “No teams play harder than Detroit and Tennessee.”
Mike Vrabel is the peak of what we can expect from Dan Campbell. I, for one, love this comparison. Mostly because it was something we have discussed here inside the walls of Woodward Sports.
Both coaches do share an imposing stature. Campbell and Vrabel both got to learn under some of the best coaches of all time. Plus, they come with that attitude that gets players to buy in.
The Morning Woodward show discussed the topic this am.
