College Football Best Bets: Week 3
Overall Record: 11-8
Last Week: 4-3
Week 3 of College Football and we have one of the worst lineups of games that you will see all season. Average college football fans won’t be tuned in to the full slate of game, but we will be dialed in from noon till one in the morning sweating out these bets. Last week we went 4-3 and now sitting at 11-8 overall record on the year. Now, if you think 11-8 is bad, just remember pro gamblers usually hit around 55% of there bets. If you do that math through 3 weeks, I’m sitting at 57% right now. It is a long season, but as of right now I may be better than the pros. As always, below is the list of different picks I have. If you want winners, come back here every Saturday morning before you click submit on all of your college football bets. I will dive into all the trends, data, stats, and matchups so you don’t have too. Here we go. Let’s have a day.

Boon’s Best Bet of the Week: Fresno State @ #7 USC 10:30pm
Bet: #7 USC -11.5
Back to Back. I love betting on this USC team and I still think they are being disrespected around national media on how good this team actually is. On the other side of this game I LOVE Fresno St. and have won a lot of money on them the last few seasons. So, I know this matchup well enough to know that a high level Fresno State team is in a tough spot going to USC and trying to keep up with this offense. Like last week, I think USC wins this game by at least 2 touchdowns. USC has one of if not the best offense in the country. But on the other side of the ball, everyone thinks their defense is questionable, but they do lead CFB with 8 turnovers. They have just enough on defense to slow down Fresno, and a good enough offense to put up a ton of points to pull away.

Overs Play of The Week: Kansas @ Houston 4:00pm
Bet: OVER 58
This might be an odd matchup to take the over in. But out of every game on the slate in week 3, I fell in love with this game and the over. Kansas has quietly been a decent football team this season and are trending up coming off a 55-42 OT win over West Virginia. And we all know this Houston team that has played to tough games one going to 2OTs and another going to 3OTs. Looking at the data in this one, both team combine for 87 points per game and give up 61 points per game combined. Give me 70 points in this game and cruise over the total of 58.

Under Play of The Week: #20 Ole Miss @ Georgia Tech 3:30pm
Bet: UNDER 63.5
When I saw this total over 60 points I had to smash the under. Since last season Ole Miss is 11-4 on the under and 1-1 this season. Don’t let the fact that Ole Miss is going to score 55 scare you away from this under. I don’t see this Georgia Tech team putting up points at all. Georgia Tech played a better Clemson team Week 1 and lost 41-10. I expect this game to be very similar especially since they are playing @ Georgia Tech.
Dog of the Week/Upset: Texas Tech @ #16 NC State 7:00pm
Bet: Texas Tech +290
Like I talked about at the start, this week 3 slate of College Football might be the worst of the season. Last weekend we saw a handful of upsets and top 25 teams getting knocked off. This week, the first game that stood out was Texas Tech. Coming of a huge win vs. #25 Houston I think this Texas Tech team might be better than we thought and this week they actually were receiving votes. My biggest question tho is really how good is this NC State team? We have seen them play to average teams and almost dropped a game week 1 to East Carolina. This being their first big test of the season, I smell the dogs barking and the underdog coming out on top in this matchup.
This family over EVERYTHING.

BIG TEN Play: #11 Michigan State @ Washington 7:30pm
Bet: #11 Michigan State +3.5
Lets just call it what it is. I am 0-3 in my Big Ten bets and looking to go on a streak here to get back to .500 the next few weeks. This is the perfect play to get back on track. Michigan State heading to Washington as underdogs, I will take this every time. Neither team has played any big games yet, but going by the eye test and what team I think is clearly better, I am surprised this Michigan State team are underdogs. I almost put this State team in my underdog spot to win this game at +150. Berger and Broussard are going to have a big night and Thorne will bounce back to lead this team to a win on the road in the west coast.

Super Conference Play: #13 Miami @ #24 Texas A&M 9:00pm
Bet: #24 Texas A&M -5.5
Everyone, and I mean everyone is going to think Miami is the play in this game. As of right now, while I write this Miami is the public favorite to cover. But lets just call this game how it is, Texas A&M is coming off one of the worst loses in college football this season. This is screaming a bounce back spot to me. A&M needs a win to keep their season alive, and we all know that they still have a team with a ton of 5 stars and talent, eventually this team is going to break and have a big game. I think today is that day. Texas A&M still has one of the best defenses in the country and after what I saw last week in the first half from Miami vs. Southern Miss I think Miami may struggle a bit vs. the Aggie defense.

Bonus Play: #6 Oklahoma @ Nebraska 12:00pm
Bet: Nebraska +12
Nebraska had the biggest story in sports the last week with them firing Scott Frost. You may think this is a really bad Nebraska team that just lost to Georgia Southern. But it is the complete opposite. We have seen this so many times in College Football. A team coming off a bad loss, coach gets fired, and then comes out with a fire under them to compete the next week. Some may be saying that Scott Frost really was the problem in that Nebraska locker room, now with him gone and Mickey Joseph taking over does Nebraska finally be the team we all thought they should be? Last season, Nebraska almost beat Oklahoma on the road and lost 23-16. Now playing in Lincoln, as being a BIG 10 fan we all know what it is like playing at Memorial Stadium. Give me the underdog story and Nebraska +11 to end week 3 of this college football slate.
