College Football Best Bets: Week 2
Overall Record: 7-5
Last Week: 5-2
Week 2 of College Football. Coming of a 5-2 record last week I am back and chasing down that 7-0 card. And I will say, I LOVE MY CARD today. We still have a ton of ugly matchups with these non-conference schedules, but we also have a treat of some games that I dialed in on. I want to bring all of you my best bets for week 2 from mostly games that will be on national televisions or top 25 teams. This week I have a mix of both along with an in state rivalry game. As always, below is the list of different picks I have. If you want winners, come back here every Saturday morning before you click submit on all of your college football bets. I will dive into all the trends, data, stats, and matchups so you don’t have too. Here we go. Let’s have a day.

Boon’s Best Bet of the Week: #10 USC @ Stanford 7:30pm
Bet: #10 USC -9.0
HAMMER. HAMMER. I love this game. I thought something was wrong when I first saw the line of this game sitting at -8. Through the week I have seen this line move up too -9.5 and locked it in at -8. Stanford has actually won this matchup 4 of the last 5 meetings at home BUT this isn’t the same old USC team that we have seen the last few seasons. Lincoln Riley has this team buying, with Caleb Williams coming over with him from Oklahoma and transfer Jordan Addison former Biletnikoff Winner joining him. Riley also brought on one of the best transfer classes we have seen and stacked up there defense. I expect this game to be a blow out and USC winning 35-14 and cashing my best bet for week 2 of College Football.

Overs Play of The Week: #9 Baylor @ #21 BYU 10:15pm
Bet: OVER 53.5
This actually may be my favorite all around game of the week. I will have another bet on this game on the bonus bet slot as well. But, both teams are coming off big offensive week with Baylor putting up 69 points and BYU 50 points. Yes I know they won’t have big games like that against each other. But they both have elite offenses that are looking to put up points. I believe this game is going to turn into a shoot out. Last season the two teams played and scored 62 points. This year I am looking at a similar game, that might end around 42-35.
Under Play of The Week: Iowa State @ Iowa 4:00pm
Bet: UNDER 40
Now, if you watched week one you saw the Iowa score of 7-3 and neither team touching an end zone. With this being a in state rivalry, I don’t believe it will be that low. But with Iowa’s defense I still believe we may see a FG shootout in Iowa City. Give me a Iowa victory with a score of 20-17.
Nothing like Iowa punting from their opponents 37 yard line. Pure uncut Hawkeye football. pic.twitter.com/mvIVbX6ubp

Dog of the Week/Upset: #24 Tennessee @ #17 Pittsburgh 3:30pm
Bet: PITT +130
I know this is the Upset segment of my picks. But, for some reason PITT is sitting at a +130 underdog against #24 Tennessee. Everyone had the chance on opening night last week to see this PITT team play in the Backyard Brawl vs. WV and squeak out with a big win. I am looking at this game and seeing a really similar result. Hendon Hooker is looking to come into PITT and get a huge win on the road. But, Coach Narduzzi and starting QB Kedon Slovis will come out with another victory there in Pittsburgh.
With pride and enthusiasm...

BIG TEN Play: Akron @ #14 Michigan State 4:00pm
Bet: OVER 56.5
I am 0-2 in my Big Ten plays right now, so I have a lot of catching up to do. This week will be an automatic winner with Michigan State hosting Akron. Last weekend, I did take the over in the Michigan State game and we saw their offense slow down a bit before it got going. Today will be a different story for Payton Thorne and this offense. He missed a few passes vs. Western Michigan that I believe he will make today and turn into scoring drives. I believe this Michigan State team will put up 49 points on their own. All we need is a touchdown out of Akron to cash this bet.

Super Conference Play: #20 Kentucky @ #12 Florida 7:00pm
Bet: #20 Kentucky +6.0
This play was almost my BEST BET for week 2. Kentucky heading to the swamp to take on a newly ranked #12 Florida team coming off a HUGE and EMOTIONAL win. This is a huge let down spot for these Gators. Coming off a high of beating a good top 25 team, and turning around with another big matchup is difficult. Will Levis and this Kentucky team beat this Florida team last season, and even know they’re playing in the swamp, I still think Kentucky will keep this game within 1 score all night and have a chance to win the game the last 5 minutes. Give me Kentucky +6.5

Bonus Play: #9 Baylor @ #21 BYU 10:15pm
Bet: #21 BYU -2
My final play of the whole weekend. 10:15pm start time out on the west coast and one of the best games of the day. You better believe I will be up at 1:30 in the morning to cash this bet. Everyone seems to love Baylor this weekend. But, they are on the road at one of the toughest places to play in college football. BYU may be one of the more underrated programs and football teams in the country. Being one of the toughest places to play, having second year QB Jaren Hall, and one of the best OL’s in the country, I think this BYU will be too much for this Baylor team. Last stat for this game, BYU is 17-3 at home in there last 3 seasons. Give my BYU and the points to wrap up my best bets for week 2 of College Football.
