The Detroit Pistons are now 15-51 on the season. Yes that is real. It has been a forgettable season for the Motor City.
Former Piston Great Chauncey Billups was in town on Monday night. After the game he shared what he thinks of the state of the Pistons.
Chauncey was asked if it bothers him to watch the Pistons struggle like they have.
“You know I don’t like that.” Billups said, “I’m 100% worried about my team, but I always keep an eye on what the Pistons are doing…I think they’re building a team just how they should be building it.”
Chauncey Billups on if it bothers him to watch the #Pistons struggle in recent years:

He went on to talk about Troy Weaver and Dwayne Casey:
“I think Troy and Coach Casey have done a really good job with the young talent that they have. Just teaching them early in their career. You also have to consider the stage that they are in. What they are trying to do. I think they are in great position. I think they are building a team, just how you should build it.”
The Detroit Pistons are in rebuild mode, some are saying tank mode. But according to Mr. Big Shot they are on the right path. That was nice to hear from the former Finals MVP.
There hasn’t been much to cheer for this year, unless you are rooting for the #1 overall pick in the upcoming draft. Hopefully this adds a little light to the “process”.
As you can tell I’m grasping for anything to hold onto at this point. So any good news, I’m going to try to show it to the world!
So for everyone calling for Casey’s job or saying Weaver is taking too long in the rebuild, listen to Chauncey Billups. I think he knows a thing or two about building a championship team.
