After a dominating performance over Court McGee, Carlos Condit called out Nick Diaz and Matt Brown. Lucky for Condit, Matt Brown has responded and all signs point to a re-booking of the match.
Bubblewrap that dude up so we make it to the f***ing fight – Carlos Condit
During the post fight press conference, Condit made it clear that he wants either Nick Diaz or Matt Brown next. As much as I would want to see Diaz and Condit run it back, I have a feeling the UFC will give Diaz a higher ranked opponent. Condit and Brown were originally suppose to fight in April 2013, but Brown injured his back and was forced to pull out. The fight was booked five years later in April 2018, but Brown pulled out again this time due to a torn ACL. If The UFC is smart they’ll attempt to book this match for a third time as this fight has all the signs of being an absolute bloodbath.
The Natural Born Killer Is Back After A 645 Day Layoff
Condit’s win on Saturday breaks a five fight losing streak for the MMA veteran, and proof that he’s still one of the most dangerous fighters in the UFC. After dropping McGee late in the first round, Condit picked up the pace in the second and third round to earn an unanimous decision victory. Condit not only looked good in his return, he dominated the fight from start to finish. The Natural Born Killer broke McGee’s nose late in the first and used his striking skills to control the fight. I’d argue that Condit looked like his old self in his UFC return after being out of the octagon for almost 2 years.
Carlos always puts on a show every time he enters the octagon, and the fight would be a great match up for both Brown and Condit. Sure, both fighters are past their prime, but its a fight that all MMA fans would love to finally see happen.
