A Wojo breaking news alert that no Detroit Pistons fan would like. Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham will have season ending shin surgery.

Whenever you hear the term “Wojo bomb”, it involves ESPN basketball insider Adrian Wojanrowski. Earlier on Monday night, he tweeted out that Detroit Pistons guard Cade Cunningham will miss the rest of the season. He will be having surgery on his left shin. Cade has not played since November 9th. Over the last month, he has been resting and rehabbing to see if the injury would get better. But per Wojnarowski, everyone felt that surgery would be the best option.

In the 12 games he appeared in this season, Cunningham averaged almost 20 points a game, shot 41% from the field and had 3 double-doubles. Since then, the starting back court has featured Killian Hayes in a bigger role to go with rookie Jaden Ivey.  Since Cunningham has gone down, Hayes has taken advantage of the opportunity.

76 games into a career

Cunningham has only played 76 games so far in a Pistons uniform. He missed the start of last season due to an ankle injury. So Pistons fans will have to wait until next season to see what Detroit can do at full strength. They are currently holding the worst record in the NBA at 7-22.
