UFC President Dana White went live on all social media platforms to announce the latest fight news.

Gilbert Burns vs. Belal Muhammad

Welterweights Gilbert Burns and Belal Muhammad both agreed to fight at UFC 288. The fight will be a five-round co-main event that will take place in just around two weeks.

Gilbert Burns has been very active and has already fought twice in 2023. The former championship contender made easy work of Jorge Masvidal earlier this month at UFC 287. A win over Belal Muhammad should guarantee him a title shot for his next bout in the UFC.

On the other hand, Muhammad has not fought since October of last year but is on an incredible run. The number four-ranked welterweight has won eight of his last nine bouts in the UFC. Also, Muhammad has not lost a fight since early 2019. Muhammad has been asking for a title shot constantly on Twitter, a win over Burns should help his case.

Charles Oliveira vs. Beneil Dariush

Former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira will now face Beneil Dariush at UFC 289 in Canada. This fight was supposed to take place at UFC 288 but due to an injury, Oliveira had to pull out.

Oliveira has not fought since October when he lost his title against Islam Makhachev. But the number one-ranked lightweight should get a title shot if he defeats Dariush.

Beneil Dariush has been on a dark horse in the lightweight division, winning eight fights straight. His last fight was also in October and he will most likely be fighting for the title if he defeats the former champ.
