The highly anticipated super fight between Middleweight champ Israel Adesanya and Light Heavyweight champ Jan Blachowicz is official! The two champs will meet in March and will headline UFC 259. Blachowicz (27-8) and Adesanya (20-0 ) have been rumored to fight for months, but according to Dana White the two will finally clash in Spring 2021.

When the Blachowicz vs Adesanya match up was initially rumored fans began to speculate if things would be different for Izzy at 205lbs. The Light Heavyweight division is a 20lb jump for Izzy and is the current home for Blachowicz. With a record of 20-0 in his MMA career, Stylebender has proved he can hang with the best of the best in the Middleweight division. Although he is undefeated, Izzy will have a true test with Blachowicz. Jan is no walk in the park for anyone at Light Heavyweight let alone someone who is moving up from Middleweight. Sure, Sylebender has fought fighters who have true punching power, but not someone with that “Polish Power” like Jan.

It will be interesting to see how things play out if Izzy gets the W. Not only will become a double champ, he’ll also have the belt in the division Jon Jones left. Sure, Jones is currently chasing the Heavyweight title, but I guarantee he’ll come back for a fight with Izzy. Adesanya has a really tough test against Blachowicz.
